CIRACET Strengthens Healthcare Cybersecurity Readiness at the ISACA Puerto Rico 2026 Annual Cybersecurity Symposium

October 23, 2026

CIRACET took part in the ISACA Puerto Rico Chapter’s 2026 Annual Cybersecurity Symposium, presented by Secure Puerto Rico at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan. Representing the company was Ramon Nieves, Information Technology Administrator, who joined cybersecurity, audit, risk, and technology professionals from across the island. Organized around the theme “Connect. Learn. Protect.,” the symposium examined how the threat landscape is changing and how organizations can respond with greater speed and maturity.

For a company dedicated to biomedical services and healthcare technology, the symposium addressed a reality that grows more urgent every year. Hospitals and clinical environments now depend on networked medical equipment, connected clinical systems, and large volumes of sensitive patient data. Every one of those connections is a potential point of exposure, and a security incident in a healthcare setting can disrupt care delivery itself. CIRACET’s presence reflects a clear conviction: protecting the technology that supports patient care is inseparable from maintaining it.

The program focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping both sides of cybersecurity. Speakers explored how cyber defense must be redesigned for an era of autonomous AI agents, what the threat landscape looks like as frontier AI models become more capable, and how organizations can build defense programs prepared for AI-driven attacks. Other sessions examined AI governance, practical approaches to adopting AI within audit, risk, and compliance functions, and how to turn data into meaningful decisions. Discussions on data control and the short notification windows organizations face after a data incident, along with insights on transforming SOC 2 compliance from an audit exercise into a business advantage, offered direct lessons for any organization that handles regulated information. Expert panels on identifying, prioritizing, and responding to cyber threats rounded out a program grounded in practical, real-world response.

These insights translate directly into value for Puerto Rico’s healthcare ecosystem. Through Ramon’s participation, CIRACET’s IT function gained a stronger understanding of AI-enabled threats, governance frameworks, and incident readiness, knowledge that allows the company to approach biomedical equipment, clinical system integration, and technology support with security considered from the start rather than added afterward. It also equips CIRACET to hold more informed conversations with hospitals and providers about risk, compliance, and resilience, helping healthcare organizations protect operational continuity and the trust patients place in them.

Events like this symposium reinforce CIRACET’s role as a bridge between emerging global practices and the specific needs of Puerto Rico’s healthcare sector. By continuing to learn alongside the island’s cybersecurity community, CIRACET is building the knowledge needed to support a healthcare system that is more connected, more innovative, and better protected.
